With visual artist Maria Barbosa. “Between terror and tenderness, at an early hour, man works, painting a cure for tomorrow.” This verse by Cuban composer Silvio Rodriguez, dedicated to Ecuadorian painter Oswaldo Guayasamin, inspires our musical tribute to Latin American visual art.  Against  a visual backdrop by Brazilian artist Maria Barbosa, relish a unique concert of a capella songs and poetry set to music that celebrate the power of hope and inspiration. Cantos y poesías que evocan el poder de la esperanza y la inspiración.

Pre-concert lecture at 7pm. Savor the premiere of our rare collection of exquisite harmonies that reflect the diversity and history of Latin America: Music from sacred colonial songs, to the secular sounds that emerged from independence and national pride, to contemporary works inspired by folklore and cross-cultural infusion. Based on Artistic Director Diana Saez’s doctoral research. Un viaje musical a través de cinco siglos de historia Latino Americana.
