If you have what it takes, Cantigas is looking for YOU!

Do you love choral music, have previous choral experience and some sight singing skills? Look no further, we want to meet you.  Auditions for the 2012-2013 Season will be held on August 20, 21 and 22. 

What Cantigas can offer you: a unique opportunity to learn and perform an original choral repertoire including the premier of commissioned pieces as well as music that is less widely known in the United States. This is not your run of the mill choir, but a highly motivated, multicultural singing ensemble that enjoys singing a diverse repertoire and having fun times together. 

Auditions

What you will need to do on audition day: sing a prepared song of your choosing, go through a sight singing exercise and have a short interview with the artistic director.  Schedule your audition!

Requirements

The following are required for each singer:

• Previous choral experience
• Basic sight-reading skills
• A good attitude

Rehearsals

• Wednesdays 7:30-10 PM
• September through June
• Choir Room at the Bethesda United Methodist Church, 8300 Old Georgetown Rd, Bethesda, MD
• Occasional extra rehearsals are scheduled as needed and there are generally two rehearsals the week of each concert.

Fees

There is a membership of $110 per concert season. Singers provide their own concert dress: Black Top/Bottom/Shoes.

Performance Locations

Concert venues are located in Montgomery County, MD, and occasionally in Washington, DC.
